Jane Lovelock
Clinical Director
MRCVSJane joined us in 2000 as a kennel assistant, before heading to university and qualifying as a veterinary surgeon. She returned in 2010 and has been our clinical director since 2019. Her special interests include imaging and hormonal disorders, and she holds a Certificate in small animal medicine. She spends much of her free time taking care of her cat, Taz.

Jess Barratt
Senior Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSJess completed training placements with us before qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 2014, and joined our team three years later. She now mentors veterinary students, and has a passion for feline medicine, dentistry, diabetes management and oncology. Outside of work, she is kept occupied by her family and springer spaniel, Bruce.

Liz Perrott
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSLiz joined us shortly after graduating from Edinburgh University in 2003, and holds a Certificate in small animal surgery. She is also currently working towards a Certificate in Imaging. Liz has a huge range of interests, including surgery, orthopaedics, wound management and palliative care, and loves working with our long term clients and their pets. At home, she has two cats and a Labrador.

Rachel Franks
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSRachel graduated from Cambridge University in 2003 and joined our practice four years later. Her special interests include surgery and cardiology, and she holds a master’s degree in biological anthropology and a Certificate in emergency medicine and surgery. Her favourite part of her role is seeing pets return home once they’re better.

Laura Newton
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSLaura has been with us since 2016, and completed a degree in animal behaviour and welfare before qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 2006. She loves getting to build relationships with our clients and their pets, and enjoys a busy home life with her family and their black cat, Florence.

Beverley Jackson
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSBeverley qualified as a vet from Nottingham University in 2011, she completed a degree in Zoology before becoming a vet. She has been in small animal practice since graduating and joined us here in 2020. She is particularly interested in canine and feline medicine with her favourite part of her role is helping clients with ophthalmic or dermatological complaints. Outside of work she enjoys her busy family life along with cats Frodo and Merlin.

Harriet Clowes
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSHarriet joined our team after qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 2019. She enjoys all aspects of first opinion work, but has a special interest in surgery and neurology and loves working with owners to keep their pets happy and healthy. She shares her home with two cats called Artemis and Apollo.

Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSClaire qualified in 2020 from Bristol Vet School and spent a few years in mixed practice before joining us here in 2023. She enjoys all aspects of the job and loves the variety of each day.

Kiera Brook
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSKiera qualified from the RVC in 2022 and worked as a mixed vet until joining us in July 2023. She enjoys working with owners to find the best treatment for their pets and particularly enjoys canine medicine cases. At home, Kiera has a Cocker Spaniel called Crumpet and loves taking her hiking and climbing peaks when she’s not working.

Amy Hamilton
Head Veterinary Nurse
RVNAmy joined us as a student nurse and completed her veterinary nursing degree in 2017. She is one of our clinical coaches, and her interests include inpatient care, feline and rabbit medicine and managing diabetic patients. Our resident cat whisperer, she is one of our cat friendly advocates and has a Certificate in Feline Medicine. At home she has two rehomed cats of her own, Molly and Marie, and two rabbits Eloise and Penelope.

Bryony Lawrence
Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse
RVNBryony joined us in 2018 and is a clinical coach. Her passions include wound management, consulting and critical and emergency care. She loves getting to watch pets grow and develop. She has a Certificate in wound management and a Diploma in consulting. She has many pets of her own, including a pug, two cats and a tortoise.

Joanna Pointon
Senior Veterinary Nurse
RVNJoanna qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2008, and first joined us while completing her training. She mainly works in our kennels, where she takes great care of our inpatients. She has several pets of her own at home, including a miniature poodle called Esther, two cats, chickens and guinea pigs.

Lyndsey Salter
Senior Veterinary Nurse
RVNLyndsey joined our team in 2003 and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2007. Her favourite parts of her job are anaesthesia, surgical nursing and nurse clinics, and she enjoys helping our patients and clients have a stress free visit. Lyndsey is currently working towards her Diploma in consulting. She has two beautiful cats called Poppy and Percy who she rescued from our practice.

Carina Hopkins
Veterinary Nurse
RVNCarina completed a foundation degree in animal science before joining us as a kennel assistant in 2014, and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2021. She has a huge soft spot for guinea pigs and an interest in wound care, and she loves getting to work with different animals and a brilliant team every day.

Katie Ellis
Veterinary Nurse
RVNKatie qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2020 and joined our team the same year. Her key interests are neonatal care and working with patients with special needs, and she is keen to develop her knowledge of these areas in the future. Her favourite part of her job is seeing pets go home happy and healthy.

Dale Stokes
Veterinary Nurse
RVNDale qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2016 and joined Garden Vets in July 2021. She particularly enjoys all aspects of anaesthesia and has completed an additional Certificate in this. Dale is kept on her toes by her four cats: Diego, Dave, Ricky and Paps.
Dale is currently on maternity leave.

Veterinary Nurse
RVNSteph qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2020 and joined our team in 2022. She has a keen interest in lab work and inpatient care, and likes to regularly update her knowledge of anaesthesia. She loves getting to know the personalities of every pet, and has a lovely vizsla of her own called Lilly.

Veterinary Nurse
RVNAlice joined us in 2020 as an animal care assistant, began her student nursing training in 2022 and qualified in 2024. One of her favourite parts of her job is getting to help the wildlife that is brought into our practice. Outside of work she enjoys horse riding, gardening and caring for her pets – Rory the cat and a royal python.

Locum Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNBecky studied Equine Veterinary Nursing at university, and spent five years working at an equine veterinary hospital before joining our team as a small animal nurse veterinary nurse in 2021. She now spends most of her time working at her farm, but still works with us when we need her.

Rebecca Brown
Practice Manager
RVNRebecca has been with us since 2003, and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2013. In 2023, Rebecca moved into the Practice Manger role after being our Head Nurse and now oversees the day to day running of the practice. At home, she has a grey tabby cat called Ringo and two guinea pigs.

Head Receptionist
Julie joined us in 2014 and worked her way up to become head of our receptionist team. She loves the diverse nature of her job, as no two days are the same, and enjoys welcoming all pets great and small from our receptionist desk. At home she has a dog called Frankie.

Senior Receptionist
Tracey first joined the practice in 1989 and spent 5 years as a Veterinary Assistant. Then she transferred to the reception team where she has been looking after clients and their pets ever since. She enjoys getting to see all the different animals, watching them get better and everyday being different from the one before. At home has two very spoiled house cats could Boo Man and Pie.

Senior Receptionist (Insurance)
Katy has been with us since 2018 and loves getting to meet the pets and owners that come through our doors, as well as working with our interesting and caring team. She loves all animals and spends her spare time looking after her ginger tabby cat, Stevie, Billy the dog, and supporting the conservation of vultures.

Receptionist (Finance)
Claire joined the practice in November 2021 and enjoys getting to see all the puppies and kittens that come to the practice with their owner. At home, Claire is joined by her dogs Steve and Dooley, and her cat Happy who came to us as a stray.

Receptionist
Meg joined the team in February 2022 after working as a receptionist in another practice. Her favourite part of the job is meeting the clients and their pets and getting know about them. At home Meg is kept on her toes by her rabbit Teddy and her dog Oscar.

Receptionist
Katrina joined the practice in January 2023 and enjoys getting to see the animals everyday. At home, she’s kept on her toes by her Sprocker Gemma.

Receptionist
Fiona joined us in October 2023. She enjoys getting to meet all the clients and all their gorgeous pets. At home, Fiona is kept on her toes by her two dogs, Loki and Archie.
